Solar World Congress 2025 - Industry Session

SOLAR WORLD CONGRESS 2025 INDUSTRY SESSION
The Solar World Congress (SWC) is the official congress of the International Solar Energy Society (ISES), held every two years since 1970. Recognized as the world’s leading event for scientific and technological exchange in solar energy and related renewable technologies, the SWC brings together professors, researchers, students, policymakers, industry representatives, and professionals from across the globe.
The SWC 2025 will take place in Fortaleza, Brazil, from November 3 to 7, at the Gran Mareiro Hotel, located on Praia do Futuro. The event is promoted by the Brazilian section of ISES, the Brazilian Solar Energy Association (ABENS). This edition will feature scientific and technical sessions, keynote lectures by international experts, panel discussions on emerging topics, an exhibition area, technical visits, parallel events, and cultural activities.
A special highlight of the this edition is the SWC 2025 Industry Session — a panel featuring leading professionals from Brazil’s renewable energy sector. These experts, who are directly involved in shaping the country’s clean energy transition, will share valuable insights and discuss future perspectives for the industry.
The SWC 2025 Industry Session is open to the public, offering a unique chance to experience part of the congress. If you wish to get a glimpse of what the SWC has to offer, you can register in this webpage exclusively for the SWC 2025 Industry Session at a special rate!
DESCRIPTION OF THE SWC 2025 INDUSTRY SESSION
Brazil is one of the world’s front-runners in renewable energy, a position that reflects both its natural potential and its commitment to a cleaner energy future. With about 88% of its electricity coming from renewable sources in 2024, Brazil stands out as one of the few large economies powered predominantly by clean energy. Solar power, in particular, has taken the spotlight. Over the past few years, the country has seen spectacular growth in photovoltaic generation, surpassing 50 GW of installed capacity and producing roughly 70 TWh in 2024, a jump of more than 28% compared to 2023, consolidating the country as the fourth biggest solar photovoltaic market in the world in 2024.The International Energy Agency (IEA) highlights Brazil as a key player in the global expansion of renewables, especially solar, and one of the leaders in distributed generation, where individuals and businesses produce their own electricity.
Yet, as every success story shows, growth comes with challenges. Expanding transmission infrastructure, ensuring regulatory stability, and securing affordable financing remain critical to sustaining this momentum. These are not just technical or economic issues; they are strategic questions about how Brazil will shape the next phase of its energy transition. At the same time, opportunities abound: the country’s vast solar potential, combined with innovation in storage, green hydrogen, and digital energy management, could redefine Brazil’s role as a global renewable energy hub.
These are exactly the kinds of questions and perspectives that make the discussion so exciting. How can Brazil leverage its leadership in renewables to attract new investment, technology, and international collaboration? What lessons can other countries learn from Brazil’s solar journey? And how do we turn challenges into drivers of innovation? These topics will be at the center of the SWC 2025 Industry Session, a panel with experts from Brazil’s renewable energy industry — professionals who are directly involved in shaping the sector’s evolution and who will bring valuable insights from real-world experience. Join us to explore the paths ahead and imagine together what the next chapter of Brazil’s clean energy story might look like.
