ISES SOLAR WORLD CONGRESS 2025

 25/05/2024

Add now to your calendar next year’s International Solar Energy Society's Solar World Congress 2025, SWC 2025. It will take place in Fortaleza, Brazil, from 04 to 07 November 2025.

Brazil is one of the countries that most uses renewable energies in its energy matrix. Almost 50% of the country’s overall consumption of energy comes from renewable sources, and when it comes to electricity, the numbers are even better, as more than 85% of the country’s consumption comes from hydropower, biomass, wind, and solar energy. In 2022, Brazil reached the 3rd position in the international ranking of renewable power installed capacity, behind only China and the US, the 4th position in the global PV market, and the 10th country with the most PV installed capacity. With this much going on, and with its outstanding mix of history, culture, and natural beauty, Brazil is an easy choice to host the SWC 2025.

The congress will be jointly organized by ISES, the International Solar Energy Society, and ABENS, the Brazilian Solar Energy Association, which is also ISES’ Section in Brazil. The program will include distinguished keynote speakers, plenary sessions, technical oral and poster sessions, technical tours, dedicated events for young researchers, as well as social events where you will have the opportunity to network, meet old friends and to make new ones. More information on sessions, speakers, technical tours and, of course, how you can participate will be provided in the coming months.

These are the SWC 2025 themes:

• PV cell technologies

• Innovative application of PV technologies

• Solar thermal power

• Performance of solar technology in Sunbelt countries

• Renewable and efficient heating and cooling - components and systems

• Grid integration and sector coupling

• Solar buildings, urban and neighborhood design

• Rural energy supply and hybrid isolated communities

• System modelling, artificial intelligence, digitalization

• Testing, certification and monitoring

• Synergic technologies – energy storage and green hydrogen

• Circular economy and recycling

• Solar resource assessment and energy meteorology

• Extreme weather events and effects of climate change

• Perspectives for a 100% renewable energy world
